Abstract
There was limited progress in the achievement of maternal and newborn health targets at the end of the Millennium Development Goals in 2015 (1). Similar sexual, reproductive, maternal, newborn, and adolescent health (SRMNAH) indicators but with more ambitious targets have been set for 2030, however, these are not necessarily on track to be achieved (2). A focus on improving the quality of care provided by Skilled Health Personnel is critical to achieving these targets and reducing maternal and newborn mortality and morbidity which is largely concentrated in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs).
