Abstract

The Civil Servant Module (CSM) is an important improvement of the Global Systems Simulation. Participant decision makers input their own decisions and retrieve the outcomes of them from the computer; by assuming the responsibility for carrying out their own decisions, participants' behavior more closely models the referent system. This requirement also reduces the labor of simulation control which normally performed this function for all corporations and nations. These refinements to GSS expand its applicability as it no longer is constrained by spatial requirements. Participating teams can be located virtually anywhere in the world as long as they have a terminal for inputting and receiving information, and a telephone line; intercontinental teams require a satellite link.
