Abstract

A waveguide free electron maser (FEM) oscillator for industrial microwave applications was constructed. An X band waveguide FEM oscillator was constructed to cover the lower part of the frequency band of (8-100 GHz). It was found that by selectively coupling out the near cut-off modes at a higher level than the higher frequency modes, their gain can be depreciated below zero and can be permanently subdued.
