Biography

Tijani Sulaimon is a Postdoctoral Research Associate at Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine and an infectious disease modeller with a background in mathematics. His work focuses on developing transmission models for Japanese encephalitis virus and assessing the onward transmission risk of West Nile virus in the UK. During his PhD, Tijani analysed livestock movement networks and Rift Valley fever transmission.

Research interests

Tijani is interested in the application of mathematical, statistical, and computational tools to study the transmission dynamics of emerging zoonotic and vector-borne pathogens, and understand how human, animal, and environmental interactions influence disease risks.
