Biography

Stephanie Chan has a BSc in Biological and Medical Sciences and a MRes in Translational Medicine, specialised in Pharmacology, from the University of Liverpool.
Currently she is a Senior Research Laboratory Technician in the Liverpool Vaccine Group where she is highly involved in early phase clinical trials and challenge human infection models with pathogens including salmonella paratyphi A, bacillus calmette-cuérin, streptococcus pneumoniae, and SARS CoV-2. She also has good clinical practice and good clinical laboratory practice certifications which support her work. As a study co-ordinator she has written essential documents for study set up and project progression, trained members of staff and contributed to improving lab protocols while also ensuring that sample processing, data integrity, and regulatory compliance are maintained. She has also been heavily involved in an antimicrobial resistance project where she performed and analysed the results from immunological assays including minimum inhibitory concentration assays. As a CL3 authorised user, Stephanie is experienced in handling clinical samples containing hazard group 3 pathogens and also representing the research group in the CL3 User Group. Alongside this, she is a document manager within the group, organising and facilitating the control process for essential research documents.
