Biography

Since 2018, Nick Argiropoulos has been working in the Liverpool Insect Testing Establishment at Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine (LSTM). His role involves maintaining mosquito colonies for research studies and conducting insecticide bioassays to assess resistance and efficacy. Through this work, Nick contributes to vital research in vector control and tropical disease prevention.

Before joining LSTM, he worked at TEVA, nuPharm, and Convatec, where he developed strong expertise in analytical chemistry techniques, including high-performance liquid chromatography. During this time, Nick also gained a deep understanding of good laboratory practice and regulatory compliance, ensuring accuracy and reliability in pharmaceutical and scientific research. These experiences allowed him to refine his technical skills while working in highly regulated laboratory environments.

He holds a BSc in Zoology from Dundee University, where he gained valuable experience in insect husbandry. His academic background provided a strong foundation in biological sciences, research methodologies, and laboratory techniques, all of which he has applied throughout hiscareer.

With a keen interest in insect biology, laboratory research, and analytical science, Nick is passionate about supporting studies that have real-world applications in public health and disease control. His ability to work across both entomology and analytical chemistry gives Nick a unique skill set that bridges research and practical implementation in the laboratory.
