Biography

Laura Marsh has been in working in clinical trials for nearly 20 years, first as an Information Systems Developer and now at Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine (LSTM) as a Data Manager. Laura works in the Data Management team in the Global Health Trials Unit. The team supports LSTM trial operations around the world with database development, data management, dashboarding, reports and bespoke software solutions. This allows collaborating teams to maximise the quality of data collection and oversight of endpoints.
Laura’s role includes database development, validation and ongoing support, including oversight reports, data cleaning, changes and extracts. She has been using REDCAP (the main database development software) and reporting services for nearly 15 years and has experience using PowerBI to produce interactive dashboards. Laura is also responsible for writing and reviewing the data management standard operating procedures to ensure they meet regulatory requirements.
She previously worked in The University of Liverpool Cancer Trials Unit, developing databases and supporting systems for Phase 1 to Phase 3 Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency regulated studies.

Research interests

Laura supports staff and teams across LSTM, creating tools to facilitate and maximise their research and systems that provide real time support for data collectors.
