Miss Jennie Gibson

Biography

Jennie Gibson joined Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine (LSTM) in 2021 working as a technician within the Liverpool Insect Testing Establishment. She took up her current position as a trainee study director in 2022. In this role Jennie oversees projects and assists in the design and implementation of studies to evaluate new insecticides or other vector control products in accordance with good laboratory practice standards.
Jennie also oversees the scheduling and maintenance of equipment within the department.
Prior to joining the Liverpool Insect Testing Establishment, she worked as an associate practitioner in virology at the Royal Liverpool University Hospital.
Jennie holds a BSc (Hons) in Biological Sciences from the University of Liverpool. For her dissertation she researched the use of malarial retinopathy as a diagnostic feature for cerebral malaria in developing countries.

Research interests

Jenni's main research interests are vector biology, mosquito control, virology and parasitology.
