Biography

Current Work
I am currently engaged in several Community Innovation Team (CIT) projects across Sefton, L8, Knowsley, and Aintree Hospital. CITs are central to ReCITE’s methodology, operating at the interface between communities and primary healthcare. They convene community members, voluntary and community sector organizations, healthcare professionals, and creative practitioners to address health inequities through diverse forms of storytelling.

Research Interests and Motivation
My professional motivation is grounded in a commitment to health equity—ensuring that all individuals have equitable opportunities to achieve good health. This principle has been a consistent thread throughout my career. I am particularly interested in approaches that encourage critical questioning and innovation, fostering change both within communities and across health systems. Contributing to initiatives that create sustainable change is a key driver in my work.

Beyond Professional Practice
Outside of my professional role, I enjoy yoga, walking, reading, travel, and baking, particularly cakes and tray bakes. I also dedicate much of my time to family life with my nine-year-old son, whose activities keep me fully engaged beyond work.

Additional Skills
I hold a Level 3 qualification in British Sign Language and am keen to reintroduce this skill into my professional practice. I view BSL as an important means of enhancing accessibility and inclusivity within academic and healthcare environments.
