Biography

Isabel Gullick graduated with a first-class BSc Honours degree in Tropical Disease Biology and now works in the Mosquito Symbiosis and Infection group as a Laboratory Technician. She is involved in rearing and maintaining various mosquito colonies for research and contributes to a wide range of research projects. 

Research interests

The Mosquito Symbiosis and Infection group researches interactions between viruses, microbial symbionts within the mosquito and how these affect the overall fitness of the mosquito, including virus transmission. Isabel’s BSc project focused on culturing the microbiome of Aedes aegypti mosquitoes using selective media types.
