Biography

Helen Wong is a Programme Manager for the Malaria Epidemiology Unit at the Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine (LSTM). Working closely with colleagues in Kenya and the Centre for Global Health Research at the Kenya Medical Research Institute in Kisumu, Western Kenya, she manages key operational and financial requirements within the growing collaboration.
With more than 15 years of experience in project administration, coordination, and management, she supports the Head of Unit in effectively operating a diverse portfolio of complex, multi-partner research projects, and clinical trials. Her expertise covers the entire project life cycle, which includes pre-award planning, financial and contractual governance, capacity strengthening, and comprehensive reporting of outputs upon project closure.
Before transitioning to programme management, she gained 12 years of specialist experience in the commercial banking sector. During this time, she held key roles in business change management, business processing, customer care, and planning.
Helen holds a BA (Hons) degree in Combined Studies from the University of Manchester.
