Biography
Harriet Brignal is Programme Coordinator for the Centre for Childbirth, Women's and Newborn Health, in the Department of International Public Health at Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine (LSTM).
In this role Harriet coordinates a number of applied global health research programmes including a National Institute for Health and Care Research Global Health Stillbirth and Neonatal Death Research Unit spanning eight countries in Sub-Saharan Africa and South Asia, and a National Institute for Health and Care Research Global Health Research Group on newborn skin barrier dysfunction and infection, in Tanzania and Kenya, both led by Professor Dame Tina Lavender.
Harriet is an aspiring applied global health research programme manager and is interested in pursuing a career managing programmes developing complex and innovative interventions to address global health inequalities.
Prior to her current post at LSTM, Harriet worked for the NHS, having coordinated a patient safety programme at Alder Hey Children's Hospital and before this, assisted in fundraising for the Liverpool Women's NHS Foundation Trust Hospital Charity.
Harriet holds an MA in Sociology and an MSc in Global Health from the University of Glasgow. Harriet is also a certified PRINCE2 Agile Project Management Practitioner.
