Biography
George Evans started his career as a Research Technician in crop science, where he focused on developing phenotyping techniques for wheat root systems. After studying genetics at the University of Nottingham, he transitioned to vector control research in the Liverpool Insect Testing Environment at Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine (LSTM). As Technician he was primarily responsible for rearing mosquitoes and conducting tests to evaluate the effectiveness of insecticide-based products.
George now holds the position of Data Validator at LSTM spinout iiDiagnostics, where he specialises in validating computerised systems to ensure compliance with Good Laboratory Practice. In addition, he manages and analyses departmental datasets to support business intelligence initiatives.
George is also studying part-time for a master’s in Computer Science with AI at the University of York.

George's varied research interests include vector control, mosquitoes, insecticides, test methods, statistics, Good Laboratory Practice, computer system validation in GxP environments, data analytics and data science.
