Biography
Beth Hollihead is a Senior Programme Manager in the department of International Public Health at Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine (LSTM). She leads a team of project administration and coordination specialists, prioritising the management of excellent research via equitable partnerships.
Together they provide strategic project management services to a portfolio of research projects across the school, supporting academic leads to deliver in large multi-country and multi-disciplinary research consortia. Beth manages a research portfolio with a current value of more than £20m, with responsibilities including the legal, contractual, financial and administrative management of research partnerships; developing the appropriate processes and procedures for managing projects; providing smooth financial control and ensuring clear and accurate communications both within research consortia and with funders. She manages a team who provide exceptional project administration and coordination across the portfolio, and together they support the generation of strategic new proposals for funding as well as the accurate and timely reporting of current outputs and expenditures.
Beth previously worked for Liverpool Associates in Tropical Health, the consultancy company of LSTM, providing programme coordination and project management for a portfolio of more than £5m of long and short-term global health initiatives, including a large World Bank project with the Ministry of Health in South Sudan. She has wide-ranging experience and a background in management systems, IT and finance, working with donors such as the EU, United States Agency for International Development, UNITAID, Department for International Development, UK Research and Innovation, Global Fund and Danish International Development Agency.
